When two or more stakeholders hold interests pari passu, it means they share equally in risks, returns, or repayments—without preference or seniority.
The term is frequently used in legal documents, commercial real estate syndications, bond agreements, and debt structures to describe how proceeds or liabilities are distributed among parties.

In a real estate joint venture, if two investors contribute capital pari passu, they’re entitled to receive returns and bear losses proportionally to their contributions, with no partner having a priority claim.
